Admission

To enrol in the first year of aBachelor’s or single cycle degree programmestudents must hold an upper secondary school diploma obtained at least after12 years of schooling.To enrol onopen admission programmesstudents are only required to sit a non-selective test for assessing their preparation, in accordance with the procedures set out in the call for applications of individual programmes. The test is mandatory, but has no bearing on admission and students can enrol regardless of results.To enrol oncapped programmesstudents must pass an entrance examination. Only students placed in good position in the ranking list are eligible for the enrolment in the chosen degree programme.All the relevant information is available in theannual Calls for application that are published in the University portal in February/March.Applications toMaster’s Degree Programmesare open to students holding or about to complete a Bachelor's degree by 31 December or by the deadline indicated in the Programme Structure of the chosen Master's Degree Programme.Admission requirements, procedures, and deadlines can be found in theCalls for Applications/Admission noticesusually published every year inJanuary.Admission toopen admissions Master’s programmesis subject to theevaluation of the application request, candidates requirements and initial preparation.For admission tolimited enrolment programmesstudents must pass anentrance examinationwhich determines the position in the final ranking of students who are allowed to enrol.Non-EU citizens who are residents abroad must submit a pre-application request through theUniversItaly portalin order to get a study Visa, usually within July.Graduates who wish to apply for a doctoral program must follow the instructions in thecompetitive examination announcementspublished every yearin May.For more information about applying to the University of Milan,click here.

TheUniversity of Milan’s main campus is located in the old “Ca’ Granda”, a striking historical complex in the heart of Milan. Moreover Milan, plays host, amongst other things, to more than 300 events  attended by tens of thousands of people every year.Student life on campusThe University of Milan itself is home to approximately 64, 000 students – with almost seven percent of students being international students, representing 196 different countries around the world.It promotes sporting and cultural activities for both students and staff, through its University Sport Centre and through collaborations and special arrangements with the city’s main gymnasiums, cinemas, dance/music agents and theatres.Students can also take part in music and theatre initiatives organized by the university’s resident cultural institutions, which include the Orchestra, the Choir and the University Theatre Centre.
